Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the UAV Base platform (available at uavbase.com), you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions of Use.
If you do not agree with any of the terms below, please do not use the platform.

Applicability – This policy applies to all users of the UAV Base platform, regardless of how they access it (web browser, mobile device, tablet).

Service Description

UAV Base is a free digital platform that provides drone pilots with an interactive tool for viewing airspace restriction zones in Romania.
The service includes, but is not limited to:

  • Interactive map showing UAS restricted areas (static and NOTAM), based on official ROMATSA data
  • View live air traffic using ADS-B data
  • Weather tool with a forecast of up to 16 days and a flyability score
  • Telecom layer with information on mobile network coverage
  • Flight announcement feature (informational, community-oriented)
Disclaimer – All information provided by the UAV Base platform is strictly for informational and guidance purposes only. It does not constitute, nor does it replace, consultation of official sources from ROMATSA, AACR, MApN, or any other competent authority.

Limitation of Liability

UAV Base provides information sourced from official public sources. However, the platform cannot guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of the data displayed at any given time.

The pilot’s sole responsibility – The decision to fly a drone rests solely with the pilot. UAV Base is not liable for any incident, accident, fine, penalty, or damage of any kind resulting from the use of the platform or from failure to comply with applicable regulations.

Specifically, UAV Base cannot be held liable for:

  • Errors or omissions in data obtained from ROMATSA, AACR, the Ministry of National Defense, or any other external source
  • Delays between the updating of official data and its display on the platform
  • The absence or delay in displaying an active NOTAM
  • Flight decisions made based on information provided by the platform
  • Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from the use of or inability to use the service
  • The accuracy or reliability of the weather forecast, which comes from third-party providers (Open-Meteo)

Before every flight, the pilot is legally required to check:

  • Official ROMATSA map: romatsa.ro
  • Active NOTAMs: romatsa.ro
  • The absence or delay in displaying an active NOTAM
  • AACR regulations applicable to the operating category
  • Any restrictions imposed by the Ministry of National Defense for the area in question: aerofoto.mapn.ro

Proper use of the platform

By using UAV Base, you agree to:

  • You must use the platform exclusively for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable regulations
  • You must not attempt to access, modify, or disrupt the operation of the platform’s servers or databases
  • You may not use the platform for commercial purposes without the prior written consent of UAV Base
  • Do not reproduce, redistribute, or publish the data displayed without citing the original source (ROMATSA)
  • Do not use automated methods (such as scraping or bots) to extract data from the platform

UAV Base reserves the right to block access to any user who violates these terms.

Intellectual property

The original elements of the UAV Base platform — including the interface, design, source code, logo, text, structure, and features — are the exclusive property of the UAV Base team and are protected by applicable copyright laws.
The geographic data displayed on the map comes from official public sources (ROMATSA, OpenStreetMap data) and is subject to the terms of use of the original providers.

Service availability

UAV Base is a free platform provided without any guarantee of continuous availability. The service may be partially or completely interrupted, temporarily or permanently, for technical, maintenance, or other reasons, without prior notice.

UAV Base does not guarantee that the service will be available without interruptions or errors, or that it will not be partially or completely interrupted in the future.

Cookies and Personal Data

UAV Base uses cookies to ensure the platform functions properly, to save your preferences, and to understand how the platform is used. We do not sell personal data and we do not display ads.
Types of cookies used:

  • Required — Essential for the platform to function properly (e.g., language preference, dark mode)
  • Analytics — Used to understand how the platform is used for the purpose of improvement, in an anonymized form

The GPS location data requested by the “Find Me” feature is processed exclusively in the browser and is not stored on our servers.
Flights reported through the dedicated feature are stored on the platform’s servers and are visible to the public within the specified geographic area for the duration of the flight. They are not linked to any personally identifiable information without the user’s explicit consent.
By using this platform, you agree to the use of cookies in accordance with our policy. You can manage your preferences at any time in the cookie settings menu.

Amendment of the terms

UAV Base reserves the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. The updated version will be posted on this page with the revision number indicated.
Continued use of the platform after the changes are published constitutes tacit acceptance of the new terms.

Applicable law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Romania currently in force. Any dispute arising from the use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Romania.
The regulations governing drone operations in Romania and the European Union include:

  • Regulation (EU) 2019/947 on the rules and procedures for the operation of unmanned aircraft
  • Regulation (EU) 2019/945 on unmanned aircraft systems
  • Applicable national regulations of the AACR and ROMATSA
  • National data protection legislation (Law No. 190/2018, GDPR)
